Welcome Back!

Several days ago, we learned that our son’s spring high school graduation, already delayed once, has been postponed again.

It’s just one more reminder of the uncertainty we have learned to live with since March. Many of the questions we keep asking fail answers. When will we resume our normal school and work routines? When will services resume again at Grace Toronto Church? Just when will things return to normal?

But even in this liminal space we call “today,” one thing is certain: our team of Imprint writers, artists and photographers keep creating.

In January and February of this year, we held a couple of creative workshops, which generated a host of ideas for our fall print issue. Though the world shuttered soon after these workshops, we have been working steadily alongside our team of creatives to generate poems and reviews, personal essays and rich theological musings around our 2020 theme of freedom. Our goal, for everything we publish, is to start and sustain interesting conversations between the church and the city. Our only job now is to figure out how to get two physical copies of Imprint (one for you and one for your neighbour) into your hands. STAY TUNED!

In the meantime, we also want to let our readers know that over these last five months—dare I say “unprecedented times”?—we’ve been busy publishing fresh online content. We’ve worked hard to make sure that you can now browse the content from past print issues, and we’ve also been posting entirely new pieces. If you’re a regular attender at Grace Toronto Church, reading Imprint online is one more way to stay connected to the work of creatives within our arts community. If, on the other hand, you’re more of a lurker in these parts, we hope you’re finding content that expands your imagination, piques your interest about Christian faith, and inspires you to live well. Don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know how we’re doing!
