A Prayer for Two Cities

Lord, make all things new.
Make them all new, in you.

That which, from old, you created
Now in Jesus,
Re-create.

Give new life to the decaying
New hope to the fraying
New love to those obeying
Your call to weave:

Life into death.
Wisdom into folly.
Love into hate.
Truth into lies.
Grace into sin.

May your people
Be your people.

New wine
Makes old wineskins new;
New hope
Makes old cities new.

May Toronto the Old
Become Toronto the New
As the city of God
Becomes this city
Renewed.
